DescriptionThe pear-shaped teapot with a domed lid surmounted by an oval knop concealing an air-hole. Having a simple handle and curved spout enriched in touches of gilt. The teapot is on a delicate, pale yellow ground with two black-rimmed cartouches containing a marine scene including ships, figures, buildings, trees, water, and scattered flying birds, painted in polychrome enamels. The yellow ground is decorated with sprays of 'indianische Blumen' in iron-red, purple, pale blue and green, with gilt rims.
