DescriptionHausmaler teapot and cover of small ovoid shape with pine-cone knop and wishbone handle. It is decorated in purple camaieu with two mythological scenes, one showing Thetis carrying Achilles in her arms accompanied by nymphs, and in the other Achilles is with his mother and his teacher Chiron. It is all beneath a gilt border with floral motifs, and a faceted spout.
