DescriptionBöttger stoneware ewer and cover, after a Chinese Yixing water dropper or kendi original. It has a globular body and a tall narrow neck covered with a lustrous black glaze. It is moulded with dragons and flower sprays 'jappan'd' in red and picked out in gilding. The spout is in the shape of a dragon's head, and there is a domed cover with round knop.
