Harlequin is wearing a gilt-edged tan hat, and a turquoise jacket with panels of yellow, black, iron-red and blue checkers outlined in gilding, white breeches and puce shoes. He is seated on rockwork and playing a bagpipe. The recumbent pug has fur delineated in grey and wearing a puce collar with a blue rosette.
