DescriptionA Meissen royal jagd clock with masked arched pediment and domed top flanked by deer. The waisted sides have scrolled pilasters, and the stepped shaped base has an arched central section modelled with a recumbent putto with a fox and various hunting trophies. The movement has gilt bronze surround, and is painted in bright colours with panels of hunting figures at various pursuits. These include firing at stags and attending to their hounds. They are divided by bands of gilt scale-pattern and Laub-und-Bandelwerk. The central panel to the lower half is painted with a bird's eye view of probably Gross Sedlitz on contemporary ormolu base with paw feet.
