DescriptionA Lambeth Delft drug jar with angel's head cartouche. This jar is inscribed P. RUDIJ, pills of rudius, which were made combining black hellebore (a flower), colocynth (a type of gourd), aloes, scammony (a vining plant) and clove oil. Rudius pills were used to treat fevers, melancholy and lethargy.
