DescriptionAn oval Urbino dish from the service made for Alfonso II d'Este, duke of Ferrara and his wife Margarita Gonzaga, in the Patanazzi workshop. It is decorated with a panel showing Daphne about to be changed into a laurel tree. It is painted in ochre, blue, black and green, within a wide border of grotesques.
