DescriptionLarge Nicoya head vessel, Early Period V, with pedestal foot. The rounded body moulded with a human head, pointed chin, ridged eyes, and wearing perforated ear-spools. It also has a wide flaring opening and flattened rim forming the top of the head. While the cheeks have an interlocking angular fret design. It is painted in deep reddish-orange and black, on a pale orange ground with centipedes below the eyes and on the chin and other geometric decoration.
