DescriptionPainted in Urbino by Francesco Xanto Avelli and lustred in Gubbio at the workshop of Maestro Giorgio Andreoli, this Istoriato dish shows Daedalus flying above his son falling behind him. There is a river god in the foreground, and the background has a building by rockwork. The youth's wings and minor highlights are in copper lustre, and the reverse has foliate scrollwork in gold and copper lustre.
