DescriptionMeissen yellow ground cup and saucer, painted by the "Shadow Painter", Johann Gottfried Klinger. The cup has scrolled and curved handles in white heightened with gilding. Decorated with barbed and lobed reserves on either side, with painted floral spray. The saucer has a yellow ground underside and the well is decorated on the white ground with scattered multicoloured floral sprays and flower heads. The rims are edged in sepia.
