DescriptionMeissen yellow ground octagonal, double-handled cups and saucers, decorated by J.G. Herold. Each piece is painted with quatrefoil medallions of workmen standing by rivers of harbours. The saucers have three figures standing near a ruined tower, and a group of figures by a similar building. They are enclosed within elaborate gilt scroll borders issuing puce scrolls and strapwork within bands of gilt tracery, the exteriors with yellow grounds.
