DescriptionFrom the sales record: While Ahrens produced a lot of ware, very few marked pieces have survived. This early redware jug is marked J.H. Ahrens, Paris CW. The glaze is an applesauce colour over a dark red body. A large 1 gal size, 12" tall. Excellent condition with no cracks or chips. A bit of light flaking to the glaze.
