DescriptionThe pair of Bolognese hounds copies a model created by Johann Joachim Kändler in 1769 for the Meissen manufactory. The Bolognese dog was a favoured lapdog in 18th-century Germany along with the popular pug. Meissen’s porcelain model proved to be very popular and continued to be produced over the course of the 19th and 20th centuries.
