DescriptionAn early Meissen pilgrim-flask scent bottle with contemporary silver-mounts. The masks are enriched in colours and gold. The sides, painted by J. G. Mehlhorn, have ships in a tropical anchorage with palm trees. The gadroons to the neck and lower part are enriched in iron-red, puce and gold. The contemporary silver-gilt mounts have beaded borders and stiff-leaves to the foot rim and chain attachment.
