DescriptionA rare Chelsea quatrefoil bowl with Kakiemon 'Twisted Dragon' pattern of raised anchor period, shaped as a fluted weave basket. The interior is vibrantyly painted with polychrome enamels in the Kakiemom palette, the fierce dragon wrapped around a sagging bamboo tree, its autumnal leaves scattered across the centre of the bowl. A prunus plant bends towards a tiger looking upward at the dragon, its back arched and tail fluttered.
