DescriptionEnglish Lambeth Delft hand warmer in the form of a prayer book with two clasps. There is a hollow funnel down the spine into which hot water was poured, and then when the book was upturned the water did not leak out. The hand warmer is decorated in blue with a diamond motif, with four tulip heads at the corners and a quarter petalled flower head at top and base corner near the spine.
