Christopher Dresser

Christopher Dresser was a prolific designer, theorist, writer, and importer in Victorian England. Unique for the time, Dresser worked as a freelance industrial designer, creating many types of objects for various firms in the UK, France, and the United States throughout his career. Like his contemporary, the well-known William Morris, Dresser believed that beautiful, well-designed goods should be accessible to the public for the decoration of their homes. However, unlike Morris, Dresser embraced mechanical manufacturing to achieve this goal.
