DescriptionSèvres coffee cup and saucer (gobelet litron et soucoupe). A small, cylindrical coffee can having a scroll handle heightened with gilt foliate devices and gilt edges, resting on a circular saucer with deep flaring sides. Each piece is decorated on a yellow ground with blue vase motifs filled with puce blossoms and green leaves. The panels are outlined with iron-red feathery scrolls enclosing floral swags, within bands of blue foliate garlands, purple dots and purple dentil design. The cavetto of the saucer centring a circular reserve enclosing a small tree and plants. The can and saucer are both enhanced with gilded rims.
