Each piece features bunches of flowers tied with differently coloured ribbons, framed by green-ground rims with a decorative frieze in tooled and burnished gold. A band in burnished gold run around the rim of all the pieces. Suspension holes are pierced in the plates (as is the case with other plates of the service). The plates belong to a green ground dessert and dinner service of which 162 pieces are preserved in the Royal Collections, London. The service was partly recorded in 1826 in the Confectionary, Cartlon House. The exact date of acquisition of the service by George IV is unknown. Of significant provenance, the four plates will therefore enhance our currently limited holdings of Sèvres by documenting the production of green grounds as well as production of the late eighteenth century under the French Republic."},"medium":{"label":"Medium","value":"Soft-paste porcelain with overglaze enamels, gilding"},"onview":{"label":"On View","value":"0"},"media":{"label":"Media","value":[{"mediaRenditionNumber":"G19.10.6.1","publicAccess":"true","mediaImageURL":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24294/full","rank":"0","pixelHeight":"2400","pixelWidth":"3000","mediaID":"24294"},{"mediaRenditionNumber":"G19.10.6.4","publicAccess":"true","mediaImageURL":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24295/full","rank":"0","pixelHeight":"2400","pixelWidth":"3000","mediaID":"24295"},{"mediaRenditionNumber":"G19.10.6.3","publicAccess":"true","mediaImageURL":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24290/full","rank":"0","pixelHeight":"2400","pixelWidth":"3000","mediaID":"24290"},{"mediaRenditionNumber":"G19.10.6.4 mark","publicAccess":"true","mediaImageURL":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24296/full","rank":"0","pixelHeight":"2400","pixelWidth":"3000","mediaID":"24296"},{"mediaRenditionNumber":"G19.10.6.2 mark","publicAccess":"true","mediaImageURL":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24291/full","rank":"0","pixelHeight":"2400","pixelWidth":"3000","mediaID":"24291"},{"mediaRenditionNumber":"G19.10.6.3 mark","publicAccess":"true","mediaImageURL":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24297/full","rank":"0","pixelHeight":"2400","pixelWidth":"3000","mediaID":"24297"},{"mediaRenditionNumber":"G19.10.6.2","publicAccess":"true","mediaImageURL":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24292/full","rank":"0","pixelHeight":"2400","pixelWidth":"3000","mediaID":"24292"},{"mediaRenditionNumber":"G19.10.6.1 mark","publicAccess":"true","mediaImageURL":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24293/full","rank":"0","pixelHeight":"2304","pixelWidth":"3456","mediaID":"24293"}]},"title":{"label":"Title","value":"Set of Four Plates from a Dessert or Dinner Service"},"classification":{"label":"Classifications","value":"European Ceramics"},"people":{"label":"Artist / Maker","value":["Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory","Pierre-Jean-Baptiste Vandé","Denis Levé","Jean Chavaux","Edmé-François Bouillat","Étienne-Henry Le Guay"]},"rels":{"label":"Relations","value":"[]"},"subclassification2":{"label":"Sub-classification 2","value":""},"primaryMedia":{"value":"https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/24290/full"},"subclassification3":{"label":"Sub-classification 3","value":""},"collections":{"label":"Collections","value":["18th Century European Porcelain","French Porcelain","Vincennes/Sevres"]},"culture":{"label":"Culture","value":"French"},"displayDate":{"label":"Date","value":"1796-1799"},"id":{"label":"Id","value":"182349"},"dimensions":{"label":"Dimensions","value":"Overall: 24 cm (9 7/16 in.)"}}]}
