This egg cup is decorated in underglaze blue in imitation of Chinese porcelain, which is one of the factory\u2019s hallmark styles. However, painters often applied the colour scheme to European ornaments and motifs \u2013 for instance the scrollwork and lambrequin designs seen on this piece were inspired by the designs of Jean Berain I.
