The loop handle with gilded shell thumbpiece.
One panel shows Columbine seated in a purple dress with a green bodice picking a bunch of cherries from a bowl offered to her by her kneeling lover who is dressed in a puce tunic and iron-red knickerbockers. Behind them stands a mocking Harlequin in a chequered dark blue suit with yellow trimmings and a round black hat. His left foot rests up against a stone wall with a Grecian urn. A rural landscape stretches out into the distance.
The other panel is a stage setting, with Columbine in a puce dress with white sleeves and a green bodice and white stockings seated in a sofa with her head turned towards Harlequin sitting beside her, and with her left hand resting in his right. Her neighbour wears a puce and yellow chequered shirt and holds a bourdaloue in his left hand. Behind them stands Pedrolino in a light green suit with a white ruff and a black hat leaning on the back of the sofa and pointing at the bourdalou. Posing before this trio with outstretched hands is Scaramouche in a black tunic with a white collar, black breeches and pleated cap. Above them hang heavy puce curtains with a background of formal court gardens.
Between the cartouches are large sprays of brilliant Kakiemon flowers.
The inside reserve depicts a wood-paneled bedroom with a female nude in an Arabic-style veiled head-dress reclining amongst fine white drapes on a bed with a puce canopy. She looks toward the curtained doorway through which a peeping courtier in blue court dress is about to enter.</value></field><field label="Collections" name="collections"><value>18th Century European Porcelain</value><value>German Porcelain</value><value>Meissen</value></field><field label="Relations" name="rels"><value>[]</value></field><field label="Classifications" name="classification"><value>European Ceramics</value></field><field label="Sub-classification" name="subclassification"><value>German Porcelain</value></field><field label="Sub-classification 2" name="subclassification2"><value/></field><field label="Sub-classification 3" name="subclassification3"><value/></field><field label="Width" name="width"/><field label="Height" name="height"/><field label="Depth" name="depth"/><field label="Id" name="id"><value>181959</value></field><field label="Source ID" name="sourceId"><value>1192</value></field><field label="Culture" name="culture"><value>German</value></field><field label="Period" name="period"><value>Augustus III (1733-1763)</value></field><field label="Markings" name="markings"><value>Crossed swords in overglaze cobalt blue enamel</value></field><field label="Media" name="media"><value mediaImageURL="https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/12158/full" rank="0" publicAccess="true" pixelWidth="5184" pixelHeight="3456" mediaRenditionNumber="G83.1.624 side 2" mediaID="12158"/><value mediaImageURL="https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/12157/full" rank="0" publicAccess="true" pixelWidth="5184" pixelHeight="3456" mediaRenditionNumber="G83.1.624 side 1" mediaID="12157"/><value mediaImageURL="https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/12159/full" rank="0" publicAccess="true" pixelWidth="5184" pixelHeight="3456" mediaRenditionNumber="G83.1.624 side 3" mediaID="12159"/><value mediaImageURL="https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/12151/full" rank="0" publicAccess="true" pixelWidth="5184" pixelHeight="3456" mediaRenditionNumber="G83.1.624 side 4" mediaID="12151"/><value mediaImageURL="https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/12153/full" rank="0" publicAccess="true" pixelWidth="5184" pixelHeight="3456" mediaRenditionNumber="G83.1.624 interior detail" mediaID="12153"/><value mediaImageURL="https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/12152/full" rank="0" publicAccess="true" pixelWidth="5184" pixelHeight="3456" mediaRenditionNumber="G83.1.624 interior detail 2" mediaID="12152"/><value mediaImageURL="https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/12155/full" rank="0" publicAccess="true" pixelWidth="5184" pixelHeight="3456" mediaRenditionNumber="G83.1.624 sdie 3 detail" mediaID="12155"/><value mediaImageURL="https://emuseum.gardinermuseum.com/internal/media/dispatcher/12156/full" rank="0" publicAccess="true" pixelWidth="5184" pixelHeight="3456" mediaRenditionNumber="G83.1.624 side 1 detail" mediaID="12156"/></field></object>
